In Memoriam: Karen Gabsch

With heavy hearts, we honor the memory of a dear friend, Karen Milburn Gabsch. Karen, along with her husband, Orrin Gabsch, realized the importance early-on of having stellar cancer care. She and several family members were treated for cancer and they were drawn to support Scripps, bringing the best care to San Diego. Karen served on the cancer center advisory council. In the early days of Spinoff — when it was a tennis tournament — Karen hosted the events at her home in La Jolla and consistently supported it through the years. Karen also volunteered on the Scripps Clinic and Green Hospital Advisory Council for over two decades. Karen lived large through her wonderful sense of humor and warm laughter; her lifelong dedication to her family, philanthropy, and friendships; and her integrity with each endeavor she pursued.
