Scripps Cancer Center, John J. Hopkins Drive

Scripps Cancer Center’s John J. Hopkins location on the Torrey Pines Mesa was built in 2012 with future expansion in mind. Thanks to donor investments, the facility recently expanded by 16,500 square feet to encompass a multidisciplinary clinic for newly diagnosed patients with cancer. As a hub for Scripps cancer care in the north region of San Diego, it provides patients with access to professionals from every area of oncological medicine, including medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, genetic counselors, palliative care providers, social workers, nurse navigators and more, all in one collaborative, team-based environment. Donor support is also responsible for recent enhancements including 18 multi-disciplinary exam rooms, 10 new radiation therapy exam rooms and conference room.

Prebys Cancer Center

The new, state-of-the-art Prebys Cancer Center, on the campus of Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego, is a hub for cancer care in central and southern San Diego. It provides patients in the area with access to Scripps Cancer Center’s leading-edge cancer treatments and support services closer to home. The $59-million cancer center opened in late summer 2021. It was made possible by a leadership gift from the late Conrad Prebys, a philanthropist and longtime Scripps supporter, and other generous community donors.

The comprehensive outpatient facility offers some of the most advanced radiation therapy technology available today. This includes a chemotherapy/immune therapy infusion suite and two TrueBeam linear accelerators. Patient support services are also interwoven into the center’s programs in the newly renovated Woltman Family College Building, which provides spiritual and palliative care, integrative medicine, ongoing support for patients with cancer, graduate medical education and more.
